Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers - Foundation Scholarship Program
SHPE offers scholarships and opportunities for Latino students pursuing degrees in engineering, math and science. Please note that you must submit a photo/video release form, a student profile form including a professional head-shot photo, updated resume, unofficial transcripts, and any other official documentation as required by the scholarship sponsor. All degree programs must be in the U.S. or Puerto Rico. Scholarship awards are disbursed in two payments during Fall and Spring terms. You must be a full time student for both terms to be eligible for both disbursements. More information on where and how to apply can be found in the link below.
HENAAC Scholars Program
To qualify for a scholarship, applicants must be full time college STEM students (or high school seniors attending a college/university in the fall) active in the Hispanic community with an overall grade point average of at least a 3.0.

Conferences.
Conferences are a great opportunity for our members to network with SHPE members from different chapters and recruiters from their favorite companies at the career fair. Furthermore, the various workshops run by corporate representatives promote conference attendees' professional development.
National ConferenceSHPE National Conference takes place every fall. This year's conference took place in Kansas City, MO from November 1st-4th. A group of 26 active members from SHPE-RPI attended! Time to prepare for next year's conference!

Regional Leadership Development ConferenceSHPE Regional Leadership Development Conference (RLDC) takes place every Spring. If you are interested in attending the conference, please prepare a letter of intent (LOI, see below for sample LOIs) to Marvin Rios explaining why going to conference will be a valuable experience. More information on the upcoming 2018 RLDC will be coming soon!

National Institute for Leadership AdvancementNILA takes place every summer and is designed to give executive board members the necessary skills to foster leadership and chapter development. At the conference, these members have the opportunity to network with leaders from other chapters and to become certified chapter leaders. In the summer of 2017, SHPE-RPI sent 2017-2018 Vice President Marvin Rios to attend the National Institute for Leadership at Facebook Headquarters.
